Ali Succeeds In Jury Trial

Thursday, April 02, 2009
Trial Attorney, Seema Ali, obtained a jury verdict in favor of G&I client, the Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority.  In the case of Ellison v. R-GRTA (Supreme Court, Monroe County, Index No. 07-3636, Justice Taddeo), the plaintiff alleged that she was caused to trip and fall while on a bus as the result of the bus driver's negligence in the operation of a wheelchair ramp.  The jury rejected the plaintiff's allegations, determining that the bus driver was not negligent, and dismissed the plaintiff's complaint.  "The jury likely felt that the plaintiff's fall was caused by her own negligence rather than by anything the driver did or didn't do," said Ali.  "We are very pleased with the outcome," added Department Head Joe Rizzo.  "This is the third successful verdict that our attorneys have obtained in the past three months."
