Trial counsel, Joseph B. Rizzo, recovered the sum of $465,000 in settlement of a Steuben County personal injury action.  In the case of Taft v. Bertha Hoffman and Campbell Savona Central School District (Supreme Court, Steuben County), G&I client, Jessica Taft, alleged that she sustained a debilitating back injury while a passenger on a school bus as the result of the negligence of the school district and its bus operator.  The case had been scheduled for trial in July, 2009, but was settled after extensive negotiations between Rizzo and the school district's insurance carrier.  "Jessica was injured in an accident through no fault of her own and lost out on a substantial portion of her high school years," said Rizzo.  "We hope that this recovery will help restore a better quality of life for her."
